Metavurx Studios had a fantastic experience at the Philippine GameDev Expo 2024, held June 26-28, 2024, at SM Convention Center Manila. This event brought together industry leaders and enthusiasts to exhibit the latest innovations and advancements in game development. Its excitement-filled electric atmosphere also exhibited what is to come in the gaming industry in the Philippines.
What happened at the Philippine GameDev Expo 2024?
Up for its second year, Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) and CBZN Perspective organized the biggest game development expo in the Philippines. With the aim to exhibit the talent of the Filipino gaming community.
We had the chance to present our projects and exchange knowledge with fellow developers who were present at the event. And the feedback we received was really helpful in creating more concepts and ideas. Aside from that, we also attended various professional talks where we learned fresh viewpoints on animation and game development.
One of the highlights of the event was networking with other experts and enthusiasts. We created new partnerships, talked about industry trends, and shared ideas. And the sense of community and collaboration was inspiring and strengthened our commitment to pushing the boundaries of game development.
Another event highlight was the booths of indie developers from around the world showcasing their creative games to the crowd. Keynote speeches from leading industry experts were also part of the event highlight as they shared how they started. It was enlightening to hear their thoughts about what to expect from the game development industry.
Workshops, E-sports, and more
Every workshops that our team attended were quite beneficial, covering everything from team building to game design ideas in comprehensive discussions. Every session provided valuable information and new concepts for our studio, offering us the chance to learn from industry experts.
The three-day event featured interactive games and e-sports in addition to workshops and networking. Enthusiasts tried games like Just Dance behind the main stage, and sim racing games, providing them a real on-track experience. Aside from their unique gimmick, other developers with booths let other enthusiasts sample their games and win exclusive prizes.
Our participation in PGDX 2024 strengthened our enthusiasm for game development. It served as a reminder of the value of community and teamwork in advancing the sector. After the event, we were full of inspiration and energy, ready to use what we gained in our next endeavors.
